Welcome to my page! Well, I didn't really update my
page at all last year, but since it's a new year, here are some updates...
I've decided to keep the format of "things I'm into right now."
It's the easiest way to think of stuff to write about and it keeps this
page from looking like a blog entry. I hope you enjoy it!

and Christina at Halloween Party, Right - Matt and Christina at Cider
and Donuts Party
- Poker (specifically Texas Hold Em) - I haven't really
played much poker in a while though hopefully, it will start back up
again.
- Games - I've been doing a lot of Apples to Apples and
Pictionary mostly due to the few parties I've been to lately like
Mikey's b-day and Halloween.
- Spending time with good friends and family - I've gotten
to spend time with both friends and family recently. We've
celebrated birthdays and helped with moving. We had our annual
cider and donuts party this weekend and lots of our friends came
along with some of our family on Matt's side. Earlier in the
fall, we got to spend some time with family (see left picture above)
and had a good time seeing how much Liam has grown.
- Great reads - in particular, I've become a massive fan of
my friend Richelle's writing. She's now published several books and info on her books
can be found here.
If you want to know what's on her character's mind, go
here. Of course, I
do read other books for pleasure. I'm currently working on the
Weather Warden series, the Bean series, The Dresden Files and most
recently, the Codex Alera series also by Jim Butcher.
- Great TV - My usual favorites continue to be: America's
Next Top Model, Grey's Anatomy, Scrubs, Psych, Boston Legal, Monk, Veronica Mars
(off the air),
and Battlestar Galactica, but most recently I've become enamored
with: Top Chef, Dirt, Heroes, and Dresden Files. Some new ones
from the summer are: The Next Best Thing and
Bringing Home Baby. Well, now that it's fall, I find myself
liking some of the new fall season (though I lament the loss of some
old shows that have gone off air). Some particularly good ones
are: Chuck, Reaper, and Flash Gordon.
- Working out - Well, my workout has definitely derailed
completely due to the house remodel. However, I have tried to
keep some sort of activity up and in doing so have found a new
interest: dancing. Specifically ballroom, though I like them
all pretty well. I'm currently taking swing lessons on
Wednesdays and hopefully will have some fun and exercise while
learning.
- Modeling - No news really on this front...though Michael
did get a new backdrop so I'm looking forward to trying it out.
- Technology - I've been using this a lot at
work lately. I'm
currently using
Elluminate with my students.
They have this great thing called a v-room that anyone can use for
free. I highly recommend it.
- Higher education - Well, right now, things are kind
of on hold. I probably have enough clock hours to enroll in my
final course, but what with life being so busy right now, I'm
guessing that I'll end up having to renew my Residency certificate
before I finish the Professional Certificate at WSU.
- Trips - Wow, I really haven't had any trips in a while,
though I will be taking one soon. Matt and I are looking
forward to flying to MI for a short weekend for Thanksgiving.
We'll get to see both families so that will be nice. While
there, we'll get to celebrate my sister, Aleta's birthday, along
with the holiday.
- Home Improvement - Wow...so much has happened...about a
month ago, we decided to redo the floors upstairs. We went
with our usual guys (Mountain View Hardwood) and were very pleased
yet again with their work. While we were getting the house
ready for the floors to go in, we did painting in all the rooms
along with some electrical. It was like having a second job,
but now that it's done, we think it was worth it.
- Baby Crazy! - Well, no news just yet, but don't lose
hope...plans are still in the works to have the pitter patter of
little feet in our home before you know it (and I don't mean
Chester!).
