Welcome to my page!    I haven't update this thing since BEFORE Lucy was conceived so I figured I better make some changes.

I've decided to keep the format of "things I'm into right now."  It's the easiest way to think of stuff to write about and it keeps this page from looking like a blog entry.  I hope you enjoy it!

 

Links & Interests

• Poker  - I haven't really played much of this at all.  I did play at the company holiday party last year, but that's about it.  I'm guessing unless I get invited to another poker party, I won't be playing any time soon.
• Games - I haven't actually sat down with someone for a game since Lucy was quite little.  Now, I spend my spare time playing word games or bowling on my Facebook page.
• Spending time with good friends and family - I've been hanging out with my friend Margaret whenever I get the chance and recently have been going to a lot of play dates to meet other moms with babies Lucy's age.  As for family, I just got to see a bunch of them at Liam's 2nd birthday party.  I'm really looking forward to a summer visit to MI all by myself as well as a visit from MaryLou and Jim when the weather is warmer.
• Great reads - At the moment, I'm just happy to have time to read.  I read some books for pleasure (pulling out the old classics as well as a few new ones), but I'm also reading books for my new English student at work.  Between the two, I have been getting my book fix.
• Great TV - I can't say that I've been watching a ton of TV, but I still try to watch the old standbys like Heroes, Chuck, Grey's Anatomy, and also a new one called Life on Mars..
• Working out - This is really kind of an on again off again thing for me now.  I started out doing Stroller Strides shortly after Lucy was born.  It was great because I didn't have to worry about getting a sitter and Lucy usually napped through the workout anyhow.  I stopped doing that in favor of getting back to the gym now that I'm working part time.  Alas, I haven't been super consistent though I am trying to make a come back.  My weight seems to have stagnated and I'm not sure if I'll lose these last 20 pounds.  I would be happy to lose another 10 as I don't really need to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but it would just be nice to be more physically fit again especially as Lucy gets more active.
• Modeling - Well, the last modeling I've done has revolved around Lucy so I can't say I've got a bunch to add to my portfolio.  However, in November of last year, I did do a photo shoot with my twin that was a lot of fun.  Of course, Michael did that one as well.
• Technology - Nothing terribly special to update here.  I have been playing on the computer a lot to edit photos and work on the scrapbook (btw, it's coming soon!) but not much else exciting.
• Higher education -  It's official.  I am done with my professional teaching certificate.  I arrived in the mail and now I just have to make sure that I obtain 150 clock hours in 5 years to keep my certification current.  I'm guessing more online courses are in my future since I don't really have the time for a lot of workshops or in-class courses.
• Trips - The only one official is my trip to MI this summer.  I am looking forward to seeing family and friends and doing a lot of stuff I normally don't have time for.  We plan to go to Mackinaw with the family, visit EMU, and generally have a good time with hopefully good weather.  An unofficial trip will be to TX for Christmas.  Here's hoping we can get everyone to come!
• Home Improvement - Well, this could get long if I'm not careful.  My nesting instincts went a bit off course and we ended up doing a LOT in this department.  Aside from fixing up Lucy's nursery, we painted the house exterior and got a completely brand new kitchen.  We're loving the new updates and glad we got them done before Lucy's birth.
• Baby Crazy! - Well, as everyone already knows by now, we welcomed our first daughter, Lucille Ada, into the world on September 26, 2008.
