We've known each other for almost fifteen years now. The
past five years have been as husband and wife.
We first met in the fall of 1992 while attending the
same high
school. At that time Matthew was a senior and dating someone else.
At first, Christina marveled from afar but she would soon have her catch. A year or so later, we bumped into each other at a
local mall and a re-acquaintance was made. After that, our friendship blossomed into the love that we share today.
Our adventures over the years brought us emotionally
closer together but occasionally physically further apart when Matthew's
jobs took him to Boston and
Seattle metropolitan areas.
We
even spent some time and distance apart while Matthew was working in
Redmond, WA and Christina was completing her college degree in MI.
Everyone wondered when we'd get hitched. Shortly
after Matthew settled in at his new job out west, Christina grew
impatient and popped the question. Matthew's response was "Wow!"
and after that, yes. We were married in a lovely little church in
Farmington, MI. After a honeymoon at the
Salish Lodge and Spa, we
settled in at Matthew's apartment with Rusty.
We soon moved into a condominium. After just under two years
living there, we moved to our
current home on a shy acre
in Woodinville. Our house is a fixer-upper in need of some new
flooring, paint, furniture, and other modernizing, but with
sweat-equity, elbow grease, and perseverance, we're making it a home
we'll enjoy for decades to come.
